Kobuleti is the quieter half of the Adjara coast — a long pebble beach resort town of roughly 16,000 residents thirty kilometres north of Batumi, serving a family and health-tourism market that Batumi's casino and skyscraper economy does not. Its guests are largely Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijani and Turkish families booking on a budget and returning to the same guesthouses year after year, alongside a sanatorium and wellness tradition that predates the modern resort trade. Property development has begun spilling north from Batumi along the coastal strip, which is bringing a second, more speculative economy into a town that still runs mostly on repeat guests and word of mouth. The digital picture is thin even by Georgian standards: most guesthouses and small hotels here have a Facebook page, a Booking.com listing, and nothing else — which means they pay commission on almost every guest, including the ones who have stayed with them five summers running.
